The base game contains plenty of content to experience on its own. If you enjoy your experience we have crafted a series of major expansions. This content is released with Free Updates that add many mechanics to the base game. We have also made a series of cosmetic content packs for those who want to support our development.

A fine concept, but not well executed. The mechanics are janky, and the tech progression often downright silly. Why do I need to mine a mineral for breathable oxygen on a planet where wolves, deer, boar, and bears all live and breathe comfortably? Why does it take hours of gameplay to unlock the tech to build the thing that lets you communicate with the spacefaring civilization that sent you to the planet?
I can not recommend this game sadly. It's basis is pretty neat but it's most unique aspect which is the storm system is too easily ignored. If you are out in the open you can just dig into a rock and wait out the storm and your base is too easily made storm proof too quickly in the game. The game was never designed to have a persistent world and since the dev team did not account for any of this when opening the persistent map it makes the game WAY too easy. It pretty much destroys the need to use the system of bringing down upgraded gear from the primary ship. Since the game was designed to be one piece at a time you need access to all crafting resources everywhere on the map which means there is zero reason to ever go exploring to new areas/biomes on the map other than simply to see it which sadly is only interesting once. I think the addition of the persistent world in it's current iteration has ruined what otherwise could have been a great game if development would have stayed with the original idea. Now the game is split and both sides suffer. The dev company does weekly updates but since they are so frequent the updates are extremely small in scope. They add small things like the ability to tame a new creature that already exists on the map and should have been tamable from the point they were added. There doesn't seem to be any large updates that make substantial changes in the game which are greatly needed. The expansions you can purchase for the game aren't really worth the money. They basically just give you a new map to play on but sadly all they offer is new vistas and not really any emerging gameplay. As the game is like 3 expansions deep now and the glaring issues with the game haven't really been fixed in any of them then I don't expect that this will ever change. Due to that fact I can not in good conscience suggest that anyone plays this game. Hopefully people find this review helpful. I had been on the fence about playing this game since it came out and ended up picking it up for like $6 in the steam summer sale. Even at that price point the game wasn't really worth playing.
Worst survival game ever played and i played a lot. 4 biomes totally copy-paste. No purpose for grinding. ♥♥♥♥ optimization. They force you to buy more DLC and they dont promise anything at all
This game is dated and clunky.

Game has great bones, good content and progression. DLC and new content is absolutely too expensive to be worth it right now. Shouldn't have to shell out $85+ on top of the $35 for the base game just to have all the relevant dlc.
