The game's BRUTAL. It's like how back in the days we used to repeat missions over and over until we literally learn the sequence of events. The gameplay on the other hand, is more bigger issue, for games from 2000-2010, most generally work for me, but this is game makes you dogwalk some different level of tardness you'd barely able to handle in long term, istg if someone asks me to play this for the next 60 hours I'd not even take money for playing it let alone giving. Jokes aside no hate to the game and developers and considering I'm playing it 2 decades later, it's definitely on me.
clanky and buggy. story aged like fine wine and gameplay aged like goat milk...
The most darkest part of witcher saga from CDPR. I would say that dark climate is doing the most of the heavy lifting today. Graphics for 2007 it's great, even more if we are considering a small company that is trying to get it's first game out. Best part of that game, are definitely story and climate, graphics sometimes in terms of monster designs or environments still holds up. It's crazy to think that game will have 20 years. the inventory managment not great part of that game, but it's not that bad. combat system is stupid, you probably for most of the time want to get it done as fast as you can. Those 3 fighting styles is a nice idea, but not polished as it should be. As for the signs and magic, get igni maxed out, and you wont be needing a group style for both of your swords. The game is mostly bug free, is stabile and wont crash every 5 or 10min like witcher 2... overall it's a great game, but not for everyone. If you are into story and climate you won't regret your time. Graphically it still holds, of course movment of characters is not that great but it wasn't a mocap era in those times. So they did what they could and it's great. One thing that i didn't like, was chapter 4? that one with lady of sea or something. some quest won't start if you don't complete other's in the line, and they are kinda counterintuitive to overall narrative. What i mean by that, is i don't see a connection to main plot and point of doing them, but i still need to finish them in order to move the game forward. That same problem was persistent in ACT 2, but not by that much as in ACT 4 Great game for its time
Despite what people say, this was brilliant! I think you'd have to do some reading on the Witcher to understand the game, but it really does feels like a love letter to the books. And I'm not funny about graphics so it didn't bother me at all and actually felt like a bit of an upgrade on steamdeck. If you played Witcher 3 I'd recommend using the 'Switcher' community controls layout. Such a good game, would highly recommend if you love the Witcher franchise!
