The Horde is coming, but you're ready to fight it! Assemble your squad, choose their upgrades, and build powerful synergies against thousands of undead. Survive. Then evolve. Then break every limit in this deceptively simple but addictive bullet heaven game.
You've had enough of hiding behind the barricades. Now it's time to let the zombie horde pay for their unholy existence. The virus has spread throughout the world, but humanity is far from giving up.
Forget about things like complicated controls or hour-long cutscenes - in YAZS you jump right into the fray and watch the fireworks! It's a game that everyone will enjoy, no matter their gaming experience, as the characters you command aim and shoot on their own. Just drop onto the couch and bask in your endorphin rising from a bullet heaven gameplay loop!
Your squad evolves upon your customized decisions as you play. Pursue a varied set of perks and support skills, or focus on your favorite character to alter their gear and gain their ultimate abilities.
Control a lone SWAT soldier or an entire team of badass mercenaries armed with katana, flamethrower, and rocket launcher - it's up to you every time you play!
Forge your squad to your liking with permanent upgrades. Decide upon how you'd like to progress and if you change your mind just reset and try something else. Pursue the specialization you enjoy the most and observe how your team becomes death, destroyer of worlds.
Assert your dominance over the enemy by increasing the virus' strength and making the hell's army stronger and faster. And when you finally stand at the top, ascend to a higher state of being with the unique prestige system, proving that you're not afraid of anything.

I love survivor games in general, but this is just not my cup of tea. The "touch damage" and the lack of dash/roll mechanic made the game feel like a slog. It's just not fun, at least not for me.

I've been playing this game since early on in the "early access" period and it has changed continuously throughout that time. The devs have consistently communicated and updated the game to the point where it is a very different game from when it first launched in E.A. This is a great game to shut off your brain if you just want to chill out or crank up the challenge if you want to have some tight, sketchy runs. I feel like mostly everything that has been done has been an improvement and I cannot even remember the changes or elements that I didn't like at one point or another. Every time I have taken a break I come back to new content if not loads of new content. IMO this is a great game even if you only play it in bursts. I don't know how bad the grind is now from starting fresh due to my playing the game over years so hopefully it isn't terrible. There is a lot to progress that does help you become stronger and sets you up to be able to do more difficult content easier. You can decide how to upgrade your survivors but are gated somewhat by level requirements to unlock new tiers of upgrades. I don't know if you can succeed with some characters/groups of characters as easily as others but they do seem to be at least somewhat balanced. It feels like there is some upgrade variety as well, in game, where with two of my go to characters it seems better to focus on upgrading their main ability before their weapon or anything else and they will wreak havoc while you upgrade their other abilities more slowly. There are a lot of components to upgrading while playing and they do give you choices to build your own strategy in a sense. One of the big things I appreciate about this game is that you can see what is going on, for the most part, while you are playing. Despite tons of things happening they don't throw a bunch of flashy particle effects and whatnot that block you from seeing enemies or your group. One thing I still struggle with at times is seeing the pools of damaging effects on the ground or other similar cues as things get more hectic. I haven't checked to see if you can change their color or brightness either so this could be on me for not knowing and it could be due to vision issues as well. I am by no means an expert on the game or what upgrades to focus on while playing but I've done well. I personally love this game and if you buy it I hope that you do as well!
