An excellent beat'em up with an incredible amount of diversity in weapons, equipment, armor, special skills, and playstyles. Just when you think you've seen everything, the game introduces more meta-progression and mechanics to keep each run different and allows you to scale the difficulty up or down depending on your vibe. Online co-op is fun and has been stable for quite some time now. The ability to play local co-op and online co-op makes for a lot of fun ways to play. After some progression, you can eventually recruit some AI players to play with you in single player or in co-op either online or local. This can help ease up the difficulty or add synergy to your team. Some notable features: - TONS of weapons for each weapon class - Every weapon within a weapon class has unique characteristics and playstyles, they're not just skins. - Weapons & Armor can be upgraded during a run - Weapons & Armor can be enchanted with interesting affixes during a run - Armor can have different special abilities that are triggered passively or through combat. - Armor is actually visible on your character in-game. - Players collect "treasures" throughout each run which have their own buffs/de-buffs and special characteristics that aren't just multiplicative. For example, some treasures can trigger summons, elemental effects, shields, explosions, healing, etc.
Playing it solo so cant speak for the multiplayer issues but solo Im enjoying it quite a bit. Good mix of upgrades with simple yet satisfying combat. Only real gripe I have (which is minor) is that it can be hard to judge some of the enemies aoe attack sizes, after getting use to them its not so bad but would be nice to get an option to make them more clear (player hitbox toggle in setting would help).
This game is overall good from gameplay, combat,etc its was fun but the problem is Multiplayer is kinda unstable sometimes i got kicked from my own party for bad latency or my friend dont see the barrier and wont continue to next stage of the map
Fun game but crashes way too often in multiplayer atm. It's been a week and my friends haven't finished a single run without it crashing and then unable to reconnect, even when we're all in the North American server. The netcode is very unstable and it's basically a single player until they fix things. I'll update this review when they do so.
