I've been playing on and off for 10 years now, and the game is still being updated with new content, activities and events. I'm generally not an MMO fan, but ESO lets you explore at your own pace, with or without others. Most people I've met on the EU server are lovely, and ESO players remain the best gaming community I've met so far. Overland content gets easy fast, sure, but ZOS has addresses this by allowing you to set a higher difficulty for greater rewards, which was a brilliant move. Most group content can also be done solo with a good build and a lot of gumption, for those looking for a greater challenge. Anyone who complains of the game just being button pushing has never completed VMA. The world is rich and beautiful, and there are so many fully voiced NPCs and townspeople to talk to, random houses and shops to explore, and scenic points. Just exploring and wandering the many cities will bring you to fun secrets, funny dialogue, treasure, and easter eggs that would easily be missed just by doing quests. There is also a couple of PVP zones that are fun, dynamic, and include some unique mechanics such as siege weapons and keep repair. People are more toxic there obviously, but it's easy enough to ignore. PVP is a more challenging game, and you'll have to keep up with the latest class updates and sets to stay on top. My only real gripe is that the inventory management system is pretty bad without ESO plus - ESO plus is all but required if you want to be a crafter. I do have ESO plus and think the benefits are worth it, but for those that can't afford it or don't want it, I reccommed travelling with someone who has a merchant and banker, and being very selective with what you pick up. Overall, this game just keeps on giving, and I would fully recommend it for anyone who loves TES games, or wants to try out an MMO. There are some great addons that improve gameplay a lot, and most people are happy to help out new players and give out tips. 10/10

I would avoid the game now if you finished all the stories. With the mass layoffs the game will not be getting any more major updates. This game has come to an end. if you pick up the game to just play the story you will have a good time, but i would treat it like a solo game now. Who knows how long before the games goes offline

So many discounts and sales for new players, but nothing for their current player base... Even their "content" released this year feels like something an intern cooked up. FYI it is cheaper to buy a new account and subscribe for a year (for the crowns) and gift yourself the crowns, rather than paying for the crowns at full price. That is ridiculous. Also the price of crowns is ridiculous. I still love this game though (mainly the combat), but it's dying and the devs need to wake up or it's done. The zos team appear to have 0 interest in anything beside attracting new players, and I'm convinced they don't really know what they are doing when it comes down to combat and adjusting their backend maths - feels like they just take a stab in the dark and leave things for a while, then overnerf to the point of skills or sets being unusable. They only ever seem to implement changes (ones that seem simple ie. quick fixes) every patch (4-6 months). Whereas other games would take their game offline for 5 minutes just to fix things - either because of how embarrassing the error is or because of how impactful the error is. Other games can make these changes without turning off the servers. They do sometimes update the game earlier, but too often do you see notes like "this will be fixed in U52" and at the time U51 wasn't even released.. and it wouldn't even be something that seems complicated, and it's just embarrassing to hear developers say they recognise an error and they will fix it in 4-6 months time.
