The Continent has fallen. The Invasion is here. You are the city of Belrak’s last hope of survival!
The Gate Must Stand is a medieval fantasy roguelike tower defense game that puts you in the thick of the action! Choose your valiant warrior, recruit your allies, upgrade their skills, and discover powerful synergies to hold the last line of defense.
Remember: heroes can fall, but the gate must stand.

Strategically place your followers, then fight alongside them as you cover each other, repel enemies, and combine your strength to unleash chaos across the field. It is base building, with you at the centre of its defense, use real time tactics or hack and slash your way through!
Pick your battles carefully, though: your allies can revive and regroup after death, but the city gate’s demise is final.

Berserk attackers, relentless assassins, devastating spellcasters, stalwart defenders - each hero’s combat style presents new opportunities to experiment with unique builds and find powerful synergies.
Resource management is key to building the perfect run. Pair your hero with dozens of different followers, each with multiple upgrade paths, to truly maximize your defense!

Face off against apocalyptic demonic bosses every 5 minutes. Defeat them to claim their game-changing relics - but tread carefully, for risk and reward go hand in hand…
Each hard-won mystic relic can be used to evolve your followers into their ultimate forms, turning the tides of battle against ever-growing threats.

Every run brings a fresh challenge! Adapt your strategy dynamically as you upgrade your hero, and deploy your arsenal of followers with precision to fend off the murderous waves.
And if the gate does fall? Action Roguelike progression means that each time you have a new opportunity to prevent your demise. Your blood stained experience unlocks new content, allowing you to fortify your defenses and grow stronger for the next run.

Fun game. Has big potential as the dev likes to get creative. 👏
The game was very shallow at the time of release and didn't have much content. (could have potential tho)
I like most of this game. Great units and upgrades. It's fun until the boss fights, most of which make no sense and turn the game into a boring, tedious slog. Waited too long to refund but not sure the game will improve?

Its quite simple in its game loop, yet fun in its team build variation possibilities. The game has an atmhosphere that feels good.,
Simple Tower defense with a simple game loop, so far I've unlocked the entire base upgrades and been stuck on the final difficulty for now only because I was still trying to level up Rodrick, the tank class who needed to take 1 million damage to get his 2nd level which took multiple runs at the 2nd highest difficulty while face tanking everything. The game is very under developed with many things not told at all to the player such as bonds, the only way you can figure out what each follower gives you is to play a round and remember/write them down like how the fire mage increases the player's skill damage per level or how lancer increases the hero's knockback per level. So far the best one to always keep in your roster is the assassin which has a chance to double your dmg per level and when you enhance his bond you get around 185% chance for double damage, each follower is pretty useful but i generally focus on magic attack because the mages/spirits are so much better than the physical attackers with the exception of the lancer and the dude with the hook. TLDR: its fun but not worth the $10, I'd get it for $5 but it needs a lot of QOL, I also think some of the upgrades needs better explanation like there is one that says +80% for legendary, legendary what? i have no clue could be legendary tavern spawns (the levels of your followers come out randomly between 1-5 for the rogue lite aspect) or could be legendary upgrade cards, I have no clue. The tutorial also needs fixing, Most of my tutorial just insta closed their explanations before i could finish reading them (I'm a fast reader too, i was able to catch half of it in the 0.5 seconds i had before it closed and moved on to the next tutorial message)
