The gameplay is mediocre. I've experienced buggy visual effects on hit as the developers seemingly didn't remove the white background from certain enemy pain sprites [which I can only assume is an AI artifact combined with poor quality control]. Characters change between various in game visuals due to usage of AI, and the animations are... odd in actual gameplay. Do not recommend, I do not see any redeeming qualities here. Go buy Death Must Die for strictly better experience on literally every level.
For me, this is one of the better Vampire Survivors style games I’ve played recently. The Positives: It's a Touhou fan game, so that is automatically a huge plus in my book. I really love the darker aesthetic, especially the dark versions of the characters. It is not often that you get those Grimsokyo vibes from a Touhou game. I honestly wish we had more stuff like this. The gameplay is not perfect, but I had so far a good time with it. Transforming into "Dark Reimu" felt quiet satisfying. The Negatives: I would have liked to see a bit more variety. That goes for the skills, the stages, and especially more playable characters, including their dark versions, of course. I seriously need a "Dark Satori" in my life. Conclusion: It's not perfect, but for a €6 game, it is a good package.

Sometimes you browse the Newest Releases on Steam and end up finding a gem amongst the AI slop and the copy and paste asset flips. This is unfortunately not one of those times. So where do I even begin with this one? Touhou Erosion is, for lack of better phrasing, an uninspired Touhou Project fangame in which everyone's favorite sociopathic shrine maiden Reimu Hakurei bungles up by deciding, in her infinite wisdom, that she should bottle up her emotions, and all of Gensoyko inevitably suffers from her arrogance as a result. Now she has to save four of her "friends" (who she is not even remotely friends with canonically) before ultimately facing a manifestation of herself at the Hakurei Shrine to become whole again. Once you get past the bland, robotic UI that you've likely seen in countless cheap mobile games, you're treated to a mediocre Vampire Survivors clone with jittery animations, assets that don't look like they're from the same game, OCs as minibosses in place of what could have been actual characters from the franchise (with the SINGLE exception being Youki, and even then, he's never had official artwork made and has only been alluded to in fan media), and music that lasts about six to eight seconds before looping. The one saving grace I can say about the gameplay is that the stages thankfully don't overstay their welcome, only lasting eight minutes. The bosses, with the exception of the Final Boss, are remarkably short as well, each having three phases that you can breeze through with the use of the game's Transformation mechanic (which lets you charge up your negative emotions to give yourself a short power boost, I failed to mention it because it's not really that interesting)- but at least you get to see some nice CGs! ...which may or may not have been generated with AI. Lovely. I was able to finish everything the main story had to offer within a few hours and with minimal upgrades. There is also a few endless modes to tackle in the postgame, but I think I've had about enough of this game that I can stomach. Despite my gripes, this is still, shockingly, not the WORST Touhou Project fangame I've played over the years. Does that mean I'd still recommend this? Absolutely not. If you want to see this type of Survivors gameplay with a 2hu skin done right (and without the use of GenAI), go do yourself a favor and play Gensokyo Survivors or Library Survivors instead of this. You'll be glad you did. Addendum: It's also worth noting the Community section of this game gives you a warning that there's sexual content in this game despite there being none whatsoever.

Hey, I've heard this game from Reddit for full of AI Slop, so yknow, im not that type of guy to purchase an AI game. I get that funding and resource is quite a problem too. But let's cut to the chase! Updated: My first 15 mins review is harsh and quick assumption, so I bought the game again with the intends to try to beat it completely before giving a honest review. Final update: I've completed the game, and the ending, therefore Im not gonna change my review after this. Good! - This game is your casual RPG, you collect stuff to gain level, choose a spell, and pretty much, survive until the mini boss, main boss came, after that you win! - Upgrade tabs(the outside one, not the spell card), actually useful and very overpowered, you will need it to cheese battle (just focus on multi-spell shoot and damage and cooldown and ur good) Bad! - Introduction to the game felt rushed, its all started with reimu releasing her inner demon, and then corrupting everyone, her job is mainly to solve the incident by her own, which happen in the lake, the forest, the mansion, the garden, and the hakurei shrine, all rushed, with mini boss, boss barely like 2 to 3 lines of introduction before getting one tapped. - About the story: I actually paid attention and read through it, but honestly, it still wasn't worth it. By the time I reached the first miniboss at the lake, Setsuna, the entire setup was basically 4–5 lines of dialogue about her wanting to fight. Then there's Cirno, who, from what I understood, was corrupted and needed Reimu to beat the corruption out of her. That's pretty much the whole plot. -> The same formula repeats throughout the game. In the forest, you fight the crow girl and Mystia. In the mansion, it's some magician guy and Patchouli. In the garden, it's a cool-looking skeleton and Youmu. Eventually, you reach Reimu herself. Each area gets only a handful of dialogue before throwing you into another fight. -> After defeating everyone, Reimu gradually regains the emotions she lost. Then you fight the "Black Reimu" version, save the world, and that's basically the ending. It felt extremely barebones and predictable, with very little character development or meaningful storytelling along the way. - About gameplay: Its my bad that I haven't set the keybind, which make the game more hard to me, but after setting, well, I mean, its somewhat hard on early stage(especially stage 3, damn you flying book)? But if you got the right spell utility and passive and corruption power, you can def cheese through it. And also, spamming too much bullet can drop my fps, so this game got bad optimization I guess :/, and the ultimate is just a free enemies spawning surrounding you which can be a problem on early fight if you are intend to use it. - About boss-fight: Its super easy, stage 1 to stage 5 can be cheesed using one-shot loadout with multi-bullet upgrade, the whole boss-fight happened in like 10 seconds lol, yes all boss-fight, included Black Reimu(which she got like 3 phases and 1 true phase). If you are not planning to use one-shot loadout, then congrats, you met yourself with lunatic difficulty of touhou. - About design: Let's not talk about AI pic and video. The overall UI felt like AI coded to me. Especially with the amount of emoji, which got me suspected that you vibe coded these. But that's just my guess. The overall gameplay UI is not that welcoming to a new player, ultimate move got 2 uses, but it did not disable itself after 2 uses, it still there, which make me considered that you can spam ultimate tho(That skill is trash anyway). And the re-use of bullet instead of some unique design for some certain boss-fight, which make the boss-fight really boring(other than its 3 phases) - About power: Some certain power can be considered OP, some is considered beyond trash. Like the uh, whirlwind, this one is stupidly OP for no reason, allow you to knockback while clear bullet is a must have in every deck, same to the shield, and the teleporation move, BOOM you got yourself an OP defensive deck. Passive, just bring on speed movement, and exp gain, and spinning tailsman or abyssal deal(for glass canon strategy). And bullet? piercing or binding seal def the OP one here. Erosion(Corruption transformation), the one with most bullet added to your spell clearly take the win, the rest is mid. And just like that, you can def beat the game with those. - I absolutely got scammed on side story, i expected to be some other AI gen story, but all i got is just a pic with some zoom and stuff bruh. - Oh yea, i forgot some skill have bugs on max level, i think its the teleportation one, and the book which reduce cooldown does not work => Overall, the Ending and Story-writing is ♥♥♥♥, Overpowered Setup, repetitive gameplay with no new enemies pattern design(they js follow you and shoot bullet). => Is it worth it for the money? No, just buy other touhou game on discount instead, unless you want a collection, go ahead.
