I would recommend this, but only just barely, and mainly because it sets up The Enemy Within, which is where these characters really shine imo. While the overall narrative is good, and there are some unexpected turns, the plot suffers from some pretty glaring writing flaws. The worst example is at the start of Episode 2, where critical information is revealed by Bruce basically choosing to remember something after Alfred tells him to, essentially explaining his own thoughts to him. There's several instances of similar clunky writing in later episodes where they seemingly couldn't come up with a natural way to move the plot forward. This really took me out of the experience at times, and it's certainly not Telltale's best work (I haven't played all of them as of writing this). The game also has some optimization issues, with frequent stuttering and FPS drops that really shouldn't be happening in a game of this scale. The combat sequences with the additional preparation/planning mechanic as well as the detective minigame were fun though. Again, almost all of this is improved upon in season 2, but it's worth experiencing this first as it will add even more depth to some of the choices and twists in that game.
