I’ve been looking forward to this one for a long time, and after a few hours I can say it was worth the wait. I’m having a great time. The idea sounds simple, but it works: you fight to the beat, and the music is part of the combat instead of just playing in the background. When I stop mashing buttons and actually lock into the rhythm, everything clicks and it feels really good. The powerups are also fun, because they change how your run sounds, not just your stats. I love the hand-drawn look and the whole puppet world. Play it with a controller if you can.
I definitely recommend the game, but there seems to be a lack of tutorials on what many things actually do? I felt like I was a bit blind while selecting various things along the run and picking up some stuff that did seemingly nothing. Also the beginning gameplay loop feels incredibly long without any ability to make progress towards...anything? I could only get so far before I would inevitably die and I would get nothing out of a run and have to repeat. Maybe something wasn't explained that I'm completely missing idk. Still a great concept of a game, great music, great rhythm..just I don't know what I'm supposed to actually do and made no progress at all after 2.5 hours of playing it

A fusion of rhythm and combat akin to dmc - this game is a roguelite delight! So many cool options and you really feel the skills progression as you try to match the beat and unleash devestating combos! A must buy :))))

Full disclosure: the developers are friends of mine. Bought this to support them, and I’m really happy to see their game out in the world. Haven’t played yet, so I can’t comment on the gameplay, but I’m rooting for you guys. Congrats on the release!
