About the Game

Black Myth: Wukong is an action RPG rooted in Chinese mythology. The story is based on Journey to the West, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. You shall set out as the Destined One to venture into the challenges and marvels ahead, to uncover the obscured truth beneath the veil of a glorious legend from the past.

I genuinely haven't had this much fun with a game in a while. Black Myth: Wukong was exactly what I needed, a great mix of soulslike and hack-and-slash combat, with a beautiful world, interesting bosses, and gameplay that kept me hooked. The combat feels amazing. It's fast, satisfying, and there's enough variety in the abilities to experiment with different playstyles. But the bosses were definitely my favorite part. There are so many of them, and each one feels different. Some took me quite a few attempts to beat, but instead of getting frustrated, I usually just wanted to try again. And finally beating a boss after struggling for a while? That's exactly the feeling I love about soulslike games. I also really enjoyed the world and its atmosphere. Chinese mythology looks absolutely gorgeous here, and some locations are so beautiful that I actually stopped just to look around. The side quests, hidden bosses, and secret areas were another pleasant surprise. I love games that don't constantly hold your hand and actually reward you for exploring. Another thing I appreciated was how smooth the controls and camera felt. Even during difficult fights, I could focus on the boss instead of fighting against the game itself. Overall, I had an amazing time playing it. For me, it's easily one of the best games that combines soulslike elements with hack-and-slash combat. It has pretty much everything I enjoy: challenging and spectacular bosses, rewarding exploration, a beautiful atmosphere, and a combat system that stays fun even after dozens of hours. Definitely recommend it. I'd honestly love to play through it all over again.
