At the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, an explosion rocked a clandestine laboratory in Chernokamensk. A massive energy release transformed the city into an exclusion zone, periodically illuminated by an eerie glow. The government sealed off the region from the outside world with an imposing wall.
The true nature of the zone and its real happenings remain shrouded in mystery. The leak of secret documents, in which one word - 'convergence' was often repeated, did not clarify the situation either.
However, whispers of untold treasures and enigmatic artifacts traverse the land, attracting people from all corners of the country to Chernokamensk. Some delve into the anomalous territory as part of special volunteer units, while others trespass illegally.
You will assume the role of an artifact hunter, a member of a specialized squad granted access to the restricted area. The zone is in constant flux, and to unveil its secrets, you must confront bandits, wild animals, and enigmatic demons that emerge to hunt under the veil of night.

CONVRGENCE is a really immersive "VR extraction shooter with survival elements". The VR interactions feel great, and the gunplay is especially satisfying. The Soviet-era weapons feel surprisingly realistic, and handling them in VR makes every firefight feel intense. The monsters and cultists can be genuinely scary, especially when you're out at night. The atmosphere does a great job of making you feel like something could be waiting around the next corner. At night, you can hear monsters screaming and making all kinds of strange noises in the darkness, which makes exploring the area even more tense. Sometimes you don't even know where the sound is coming from, and that's what makes it so creepy. The inventory system is also really well done. Managing your gear, picking up items, and deciding what to bring with you is actually fun rather than feeling like a chore. Scavenging for weapon attachments, rare weapons, valuables, and artifacts is another big selling point of the game. You can sell the valuables you bring back and use the money to upgrade your equipment, buy better weapons, or get a bigger backpack. It creates a satisfying progression loop where every successful extraction feels rewarding. And you even have a companion dog that can help you in combat and assist with scavenging for supplies. Having a loyal dog by your side makes the whole experience feel more immersive, and honestly, it's hard not to appreciate having a good dog with you in a dangerous environment. The map isn't too big, which I think is a good thing. It's just the right size to explore without feeling like you're constantly getting lost or spending most of your time walking around. Some areas are also procedurally and randomly generated, which helps make each run feel different and fresh. You can't always rely on everything being in the same place, so exploring and scavenging never feels completely predictable. Some of the side quests are genuinely fun and give you a good reason to explore, although a few of them can get pretty grindy and repetitive. Some tasks start to feel a bit tedious when you're doing similar objectives over and over. Overall, it's been a really fun journey. It's very admirable to see a single developer build a game like this. You can genuinely tell how much effort, passion, and love has gone into creating CONVRGENCE. Even after reaching Version 1.0, the developer is still planning and working on more future content. That kind of dedication is something I really appreciate, and it makes me excited to see where the game goes next. Highly recommended, even at full price. If you enjoy VR extraction shooters, survival elements, realistic gunplay, scavenging, progression, and horror, CONVRGENCE is absolutely worth picking up.
I first want to say that this is one of the best extraction shooters that I have ever played. As much as I play this game and love it, I wish that there was some optimization for lower end computers like mine. If the developer sees this I want you to know that this game has good performance on low graphics. To wrap everthing up, I love this game!

Great game , been with it for a while in early access and its amazing what one guy has done. There's still some improvements to be made , but it's mostly QOL stuff and doesnt affect the gameplay. If you like Into The Radius but hated fighting blobs and empty clothes than this is the perfect sustitute
I heard many thing about this game on TikTok and from friends and hands down this is one of the best Pcvr games out right now. I love these style of games like Metro but having a Vr style of metro with all this attention to detail and overall quality of a game with a solo developer behind it all makes even more enjoyable to appreciate this game. 11/10 Cant wait to see more in the future
