It's not a great game. The UI is poor. The X to close a window changes location with every menu. Most menus block most of the rest of the UI so you can't see or click on things with them open. You can't click on already-purchased upgrades to remind yourself what they did. Things don't unlock from left to right, they skip around without a pattern. Compared to other & better incremental games, this should have been either free, or $1 at most, not $3.19. I'll probably still complete it, but it's disappointing.

loved the theme and the writings, also the music, you can see the effort in it don't think the game has that much replayability but didn't expected much of it since the game is like $15 ( almost 3 USD in my currency)
Fun little game, bit grindy in the last 1/3 but still good overall. 7/10 across the board, 9/10 for its price.
This game truly makes you feel like a cultist fumbling towards revelations of cosmic dread and wonder. The music is perfect, and the art ranges from death-metal grungy to eerily moody. The writing is perfect. Cult of the Yellow King tells a compelling, coherent journey even as your god melts reality down around you. (In fact, if you're a fan of the King in Yellow stories, I'd say this is a must-buy. It's some of the best KiY fiction I've read in ages.) Some people found the grind/reward ratio was too slow. I didn't mind it myself, but it's the kind of game you might want to leave idling in the background now and then. The developers have also been very responsive in fine-tuning this balance after feedback. I personally don't mind a little friction in exchange for a unique experience like this. Hats off to the team, hope they bring us more games after this.
I will always approve of The King in Yellow being applied to media. This game visually looks good and i enjoyed the soundtrack (and disagree with a number of the critiscisms -I believe the soundtrack works with the story.) Only things i can see making this better is perhaps the ability or options in setting as a background game, maybe being able to change the size and shape of the window to fit a second monitor as I am only in the 2nd prestige and it has started to drag considerably. I have no issue with this but it means i will be minimising it and checking back in every few hours or so rather than keeping it open
