Absolute cinema. Better than main game.
Dog town is a great addition to an already awsome game.
TL;DR: Calling a DLC "life-changing" sounds dramatic, but this genuinely felt like a once-in-a-lifetime gaming experience. I don't say that lightly, there are maybe a handful of games I'd put in that tier.
Base Cyberpunk 2077 is already around a solid 7.75–8/10 for me. Phantom Liberty drags that up to a clean 9.5/10. Dogtown is incredible - the martial-law setting feels alive, dense, and suffocating in the best way possible. The fixer gigs, new vehicles, and combat encounters are peak, and the morally gray mess that is the NUSA fits Night City perfectly.
[SPOILERS BELOW]

[th]Reed is one of the most tragic, well-written characters CDPR has put out. A broken ghost of an agent still desperate to serve the same government that burned him. Putting him down at the end was the only time in this entire game I genuinely hated pulling the trigger. As for Songbird: I don’t care what the discourse is online, sending her to the Moon is the definitive ending for me. People complain nonstop that "she used and lied to V." Yeah, she did. But look at her circumstances: she was backed into a corner, dying, facing an eternity as Myers' hollowed-out cyber-weapon. She had one shot at survival, and so did V. During that train ride when she finally confessed, I felt the sting of betrayal, but honestly? I felt peaceful about it. Night City is a meat grinder where everyone stabs each other in the back just to lose anyway. Helping her onto that shuttle felt like finally breaking the cycle sacrificing my own cure so at least one of us got out alive. If people wanted a clean, neat Hollywood resolution where everyone gets a medal, they missed the entire point of cyberpunk as a genre.
The one real critique I have:
The complete lack of any romance paths in this expansion feels like a huge missed opportunity. Aurore had insane chemistry with V before being cut short, and Alex could easily have had a brief, bittersweet dynamic. Above all, So Mi. The parallel between her and V is almost mathematical. They’re two drowning people clawing at the same surface; loving someone while knowing only one of you can breathe would have been devastating and beautiful. Imagine how much harder The Tower ending would hit if you romanced her: betraying your partner to the NUSA just to cure yourself, only to end up a powerless face in the crowd, having to live with that hollow guilt forever. It would have fit the "no happy endings" rule to perfection.[/th]

Regardless, Phantom Liberty is peak storytelling. Worth every cent.
