This game hits a very specific niche for me. That niche is hard to explain but in summary: the game gives me an amount of one of my favorite types of games in a format that's playable in VERY few of those games. I love tactics-rpgs with heavy menu-denisty and tactical combat a la Into the Breach, FFT, Disgaea, etc. But it can be played in chunks of time as small as 10min to an hour with having completed mulitple of the gameplay's loop. AND the lore and art is sick as hell, and I usually don't like pixel-style games other than Last Spell and this game.

I have play this game till the end. I have got all characters unlocked, one even fully finished and unlocked the "ending". And.... i have awfully lot to say about this game. - There is big issue with fatigue system combined with fuel system. I think the devs first decided on fatigue and then tried to balance it as the players could just go to the base without any repercussions and totally disregard the system. And that the wrong way. Just the fuel system would be enough and not that annoying. - The money is kinda worthless. The only time i can not just buy out all the shops and tavern is at the start. The fact that you unlock restook so damn late is also a bummer as in most runs i didnt even buy anything from the goblin as most items are ♥♥♥♥. - The game is.... too easy? It is rare to lose. And of course maybe it is my astronomical genius but i have never felt thretened by any fight. When i just when for completion i treated the game more like a chore than fun. Every fight is just another exp until i can get my build. And that leads us to the next problem. - Every character has a correct build. There is little to no need for experimentation. After finding one that just demolishes the enemies there is no point in ever going for anything else. The third character whose name i forgot has a build that literally deals infinite damage and thats without any items. why would i ever go with anything else when i have some kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ last boss to beat - - The last boss is wierd. Every other boss in the game is laughably easy but here comes the suprise and the final one is a heck of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. If you dont play perfectly and get good rng you will just get oneshoted. There is nothing telling you how to cancel his attack the first time so you just lose. It does not help that he spawns enemies that are immune to displacemt that are needed for canelation. If you only get those enemies you are just screwed and lose again. And that the last phase of the last phase (I know wierd sentance) is working differently and you suddenly cant cancel him is just a .... So Why did i complain that the game is too easy and now i say that the boss is too strong? Time. It takes more than an hour to get through pointless battles i know outcome of before starting them and fight the big guy. And thats using the fastes character i know of. The slowest one took me about 2.5 hours to get to the end the first time. - "you dont remember game for its begining but for its ending". This game is the same. I will forever remember this game as ♥♥♥♥. The ending is the worst thing i have ever witnessed. After beating the big bad 5 times you get one screen with big "You did it!". There is no build up. No super boss that you now have to defeat. Nothing. Just. you. did. it.... Well its kinda fitting becouse bravo you have beaten the exact same thing 5 times despite exacly nothing changing and baisicly wasted so many hours of your life

the most Anti fun game ive played in a long time, limited by fuel, limited by fatigue, limited by money/resources/drops. i was happy with the fights with Arn and 1 cook wiping pirate ships and goblin bases, but the fatigue and fuel requiring back tracking to city makes me not want to play.

They don't make it clear that you are supposed to go back to base to rest every once in a while. I see that has tripped up many people with negative reviews. That isn't my problem. My issue is that the game is trivially easy. I can easily get to the final boss without taking a single point of damage. I died to it because I didn't read that one of the enemies blows up. It sucks to die the very first time you take damage in the whole run. The combat is too boring for me to want to run through it again to beat the boss.
