Nice cozy action platformer obviously aimed towards a younger crowd but i still enjoyed it. Movement in the game is really nice, transitioning between levels was fast. only negative was that when characters would speak outside of cutscenes they would say one audible word or phrase instead of like blips or grunts/sighs so felt a bit weird to hear the MC say "Gramps" but their are 2 sentences worth of dialogue on screen. Besides that its a great game i got 21 hours out of it 100% the game, which means i spend $1 per hour of play good rate on an linear story game.
Seeing as this game still has very few reviews (847 at the time of writing), I thought I'd do my part. This is a fantastic game. The movement might take a little getting used to but once you grasp how it works you're flying all over the place. I appreciate that it never lets it get dull, by occassionally introducing new ways of traversal. The combat is fine, if a little clunky at times. It works well with the boss battles (which are also all well done), but struggles a little when you have large groups of enemies to defeat, though primarily in the early sections of the game, as you get more moves to alleviate this issue. I'd say the balance of combat and parkour is perfect. I never felt exhausted by the combat or the parkour because of how it diversifies both and doesn't overuse either of them back to back. The game knows what it is and understands how long it can keep doing that. It took me about 10 hours to beat this game, and it'll take you a little more if you're going for completion. To top it all off I love when I notice how good the music is in a game. I had genuine moments where I was just standing still listening to the music because it is very well done in this. Overall, I'd highly recommend this
Having not played many PS2 era games, I was unsure what to expect. However, what I received was a cute and charming experience. The music was incredible and the games graphics and visuals in the backgrounds and worlds were utterly gorgeous. I didn't find the re-treading of old ground to find the missing collectibles cumbersome, and many of the games mechanics such as the bells in the Clockmaker's rest were always a breath of fresh air. Overall, I would say that this game is a perfect example of "Less is More." What the game lacks in advanced combat and leveling up, it makes up for in spades with a visually stunning presentation that kept me enthused all the way through.
Great game
Picked up this game because it was mentioned it was inspired by the PS2 era. Did not disappoint. Was what i was looking for
