I wanted to give it thumbs up, I liked the idea. But the skill tree is real letdown - the bonuses on the right side of tree are pretty much useless, most drops from chests are useless, there is no strategy. And the grind for the last achievments (all nodes) is horrible
Too slow to keep the momentum going.
Farewells Clicker is a pleasant combination of clicker and city builder, with island expansion, resource production, building upgrades and a sizeable skill tree to work through. There’s certainly plenty here to keep you busy and the game has a nice foundation. The problem is that the progression can feel very slow, which makes it difficult to maintain momentum. Even after several hours, there were times when progress felt more like waiting than actively developing the island. The other issue is direction. There are a lot of upgrades, buildings and progression systems, but it isn't always obvious what you need to unlock next or where to find the particular thing required to move forward. The Totem stage, for example, left me hunting around trying to work out where it was supposed to be. A little more guidance through the progression would make a big difference. Even a clearer indication of what is currently required, or where a particular upgrade or building can be found, would reduce a lot of the guesswork. The game itself is perfectly pleasant and there’s nothing here that feels fundamentally broken. It has a solid clicker/city-builder concept and plenty of upgrades to work towards. However, the combination of slow progression and limited direction takes some of the momentum out of the experience. A decent game that could benefit from faster progression and clearer guidance.
Not really the kind of game i used to play. But I just tried it and plaid for an hour non stop ! very chill, satisfying and addictive !
Okay! Well that was super fun! Farewells Clicker hits all the right notes. I really love the medieval art style, the music, and the base building mechanics. The concept is so well done, and I can’t wait to see more content like this in the future. A little critique, though! I do wish the game was a tad bit longer, and it would be great to see an achievement for maxing out all the upgrades, as there's no real incentive to grind out the rest of the game.
So maybe a victim of its own demo, I played the demo a while ago, seemed ok, short but good. The game comes out, and I just finished it apparently in 1 hour There's like 3 new buildings that weren't already in the demo, no new mechanics or resources. I kind of expected the demo was 10-20% of the game, it was 90% of it. I feel like its a cool concept, cute little things interacting, it could have built up to cool combos, more complex stuff but it just didn't. Feel like they maybe got tired of making it and just released.
