Hard Truck 2: King of the Road is a 2000 open-world trucking game, part of one of the early series that helped shape the genre. Deliver cargo, compete with rival drivers, and build your own transport empire.
Start with almost nothing and work your way up — take contracts, deliver cargo across a network of highways and backroads, and earn enough to build your own trucking company. Your ultimate goal is not just to survive, but to dominate the market.
The world is open and continuous, allowing you to freely travel between cities, explore alternative routes, and discover hidden roads that can give you an edge over competitors.
You are not alone on the road. Rival drivers compete for the same contracts, traffic fills the highways, and both police and bandits add constant tension. Break the rules, and you may face fines or full chases. Take the wrong road, and you might run into something far worse.
Manage your finances, expand your fleet, and hire drivers to grow your business. Success depends not only on driving skill, but also on planning, risk-taking, and knowing when to push forward.
When you're not on the job, race other rig-masters in time trails, obstacle courses, and one-on-one track racing. This is no wimpy race car sim! So, hop into your cab, fire up your engine and put the pedal to the metal! The open road is calling you.
This release preserves the original game in its authentic form for players who appreciate classic driving and simulation games.

I genuinely can’t believe I’m playing this game again. King of the Road was a huge part of my childhood. I spent countless hours playing it back then, and over the years, I tried so many times to get it running again. I even remember having to use Windows 98 because it wouldn’t work properly on Windows XP. 😂 For years, I thought those days were gone, and I’d never get to experience this game again. Then I saw it on Steam. I bought it with very little hope, thinking there was no way it would actually work on a modern PC. But somehow, it does. And it works surprisingly well. What makes this even funnier is that, all these years later, I’m still spending my free time driving trucks in modern simulators. But starting King of the Road again felt completely different. The moment I started driving, something just clicked. The memories came rushing back, and for a little while, it felt like I was a kid again, sitting in front of my old PC, exploring those roads and enjoying every second of it. This is more than just an old game to me. It’s a piece of my childhood that I genuinely thought I’d lost forever. Thank you for bringing this classic back to Steam and, most importantly, making it actually playable on modern systems. 10/10. Not just for the game itself, but for the memories. For a little while, I was a kid again. ❤️🚛
Legendary pc game from ~2000 also called conquest of america part II, part III is rig'n'roll.

Remember growing up playing this game and getting into police and mafia chases, absolutely amazing to see it brought back to life after over 2 decades by now, can't wait for the steam workshop integration, definitely believe there will be some gems to download from it.
I've been playing this game for 25 years and I still come back to it every once in a while. It's a fun driving sim with a management aspect tacked on. Get the unofficial patch from moddb to have it run better. It's slav jank from the early 2000s tho so don't expect perfection.
