genuinely one of the most fun games I've played in a long time. I wish more games had hand drawn concepts like it and it runs perfect even on pc's that aren't too advanced. My only complaint is that the final cutscene for when you beat the game for the first time uses CGI instead of the hand drawn animations like the rest of the game. Obviously, this game is best with friends.

Played with my 6-year-old son and just beat the final boss on the second run. Very addictive game. The growth path is reasonable, and the variety is good. Despite usually not playing 2D action games as a 3D action gamer, I refunded it at first sight, but bought it back for local co-op with my son. Almost missed this fine 2D game. The in-game mechanics are thoughtful and create chain reactions. Can’t wait to see how the possibilities grow.

An excellent beat'em up with an incredible amount of diversity in weapons, equipment, armor, special skills, and playstyles. Just when you think you've seen everything, the game introduces more meta-progression and mechanics to keep each run different and allows you to scale the difficulty up or down depending on your vibe. Online co-op is fun and has been stable for quite some time now. The ability to play local co-op and online co-op makes for a lot of fun ways to play. After some progression, you can eventually recruit some AI players to play with you in single player or in co-op either online or local. This can help ease up the difficulty or add synergy to your team. Some notable features: - TONS of weapons for each weapon class - Every weapon within a weapon class has unique characteristics and playstyles, they're not just skins. - Weapons & Armor can be upgraded during a run - Weapons & Armor can be enchanted with interesting affixes during a run - Armor can have different special abilities that are triggered passively or through combat. - Armor is actually visible on your character in-game. - Players collect "treasures" throughout each run which have their own buffs/de-buffs and special characteristics that aren't just multiplicative. For example, some treasures can trigger summons, elemental effects, shields, explosions, healing, etc.
