While it looks better the definitive editions strips out everything but the main story missions. The side missions have been moved into a separate DLC. Turning an open world into a railroad story line that is over too quick.
Ayyyyy I'm walkin' here!
**A MAFIA CLASSIC IN A FLAWED PACKAGE** *Mafia II* remains one of the best narrative experiences in gaming. The story of Vito Scaletta and Joe Barbaro climbing the ranks of the underworld in 1940s/50s Empire Bay is cinematic, atmospheric, and unforgettable. The chemistry between the leads and the period-accurate world design are top-notch. However, the "Definitive Edition" tag is a bit generous: **Pros:** Sharper textures, improved lighting, crisp vehicle models, and all original DLCs included. **Cons:** Visual glitches, audio sync issues, frame drops, and downgraded cloth physics that weren't present in the 2010 original. **Verdict:** If you haven't played Mafia II, it's still an absolute must-play for the story alone. Just be prepared for a lazy remaster of a legendary game. **Rating:** 7.5 / 10

good but mafia 1 better
Buggy mess! The original Mafia II was fine and it aged pretty well. But this unnecessary remaster managed to turn a seemingly perfect game into a buggy mess that becomes unplayable at certain points. If anyone wants to play Mafia II, I couldn't recommend it enough, but I urge you to buy the classic version and not this garbage.
