Hey, I'm ivi and this is my very first solo Steam release. In consequence some things might not be perfect, but I'm willing to make reasonable changes, if friendly & constructive feedback is given. Thanks in advance!
During playtesting it also became clear that the game ended up being shorter than I originally planned. However, I'm very happy with the experience it offers, so instead of artificially stretching it, I decided to keep it short and focused, and simply set a lower price instead. I hope this feels like a good compromise.
I really hope you enjoy this little game 🦋💕
No genAI was used in the development of the story, the art, the code or any other creative aspect of the game.
Translations to English have been made without the usage of any machine translation tools.
For translations into Chinese, Japanese, French & Polish I tried to avoid using machine translation tools as well, but used google translate and DeepL for some sentences where I coudn't find a good fit in references or dictionaries. For the next project I will work with translators for these languages.
Take your journal and see what’s hiding among the flowers.
Whether you’re here to complete your journal or simply enjoy a quiet moment in nature, Mothkeep is waiting! 🦋

Delightful game from a solo dev. Lightly educational with excellent artistic renderings of real-life moth species. I didn't have any issues with the game software. Keep it up!
A small, enjoyable game about collecting moths. You can tell the developer really likes them and wanted to share his passion with others. An added bonus is that the game has an educational aspect, especially for very young players. The only downside is that the game itself is quite short. Would I recommend it? Yes. I know it's a very short game, but personally, I don't think the money spent on it was wasted. All in all, it's a pretty relaxing game that doesn't place any great demands on the player, yet it also serves an educational purpose and helps parents of young children introduce them to various little-known moth species. ✅

Visually appealing, hand-drawn backgrounds. In addition, the illustrations depicting the life cycles of the various species of moths are sufficiently detailed and reflect their true appearance.
A pleasant, peaceful soundtrack. It doesn’t tire the player and provides a suitable background for the game.
Game does have a storyline, but it’s really just an addition to the moth collecting. It does, however, provide the backdrop and rationale for our actions.
Game can be used as an educational tool for parents with young children (roughly up to 10 years old). But older people can learn something from this too.
Game provides a honest information about what to expect from it on its shop page.
An enjoyable and relaxing gameplay loop with simple minigames.
Cheap.
Achievements are connected to the gameplay and easy to get.
😐 I know that adding a day/night cycle would probably make developing this game much more complicated, but I think dusk would be a more realistic time of day as the default rather than noon. ❌

I’d prefer the placement of the moths to be more random, rather than appearing more or less in the same place.
Game mechanics could be a little more varied. The same mini-game is used throughout all stages of the moth’s life cycle, and whilst I can believe that the imago and the larva might get scared and run away, the same cannot be said of either the pupa or the eggs.
Very short.
I loved that the game was accurate, it wasn't just fictional moths, but actual ones. I'd love to see a sequel or update/expansion where the character travels to other countries to observe moths. Some of my favourite moths are outside of central Europe, so I was a little sad when I realised the game wouldn't feature them.
A really calm and peaceful game. ♡ You explore a beautiful nature sanctuary, with new areas gradually opening up as you progress, searching for different moth species and documenting them in your journal. You get to follow their entire life cycle, while learning real facts about each species along the way. There’s also a helpful hint system if you’re struggling to find some of the trickier ones. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3810634868 You also unlock a little shop in the sanctuary where you can buy plants and other items to attract new species, while using them to decorate your own garden. The hand-drawn art is adorable, and together with the relaxing music, it makes the whole game feel really cozy. So, so recommended! 🦋༄.⋆ https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3810634764

Short and sweet, lives up to its description.
