Very fascinating concept of a game that really scratches that "builders itch", it's very addictive in a good way. The game allows you to be very creative, and even has a blueprint system where you can import community blueprints. However, there are too many bugs and lacking QoL functions. I built a big ship very early in the campaign, after that the game was unplayable. Extremely low frame rates and buggy physics calculations makes you ship wobble and fall apart and explode, for no apparent reason. After that I gave up, unplayable. The concept does have potential, it just needs a lot more work.
I really love the idea of this game, but it really needs some time to cook. Seemingly basic things like moving colonists between modules on your ship, Splitting stations after you've combined them, a T1 constructor to send energy to a new build, etc etc. There are work arounds for most of these things, but, noting is really intuitive or clear. Hopefully they continue QoL things, and I'd jump right back in.

TLDR: not that good, don't buy now I really want to like this... "game", but there are so many things that the devs forgot about - realistic physics are impressive, but not fun, rigid, non-voxel customization is nice, but with realistic physics it makes it almost useless (I let my imagination run wild, made a big ship and physics broke it in half without any possible fix, yet both halves remained the same ship), the rest is "fine" (except I didn't test combat, I'm a coward), but if you mine, process, sell, buy, create and travel, there's not really much more to it. I suppose you'd get a hell lot of micromanaging, since the automation only applies to managing sending and receiving resources, you can't build really big ships, since they will either break or crash into asteroids and you can't feel that you're conquering the solar systems (very limited too). And don't get me started on thrusters - unless you have a "straight line" or "concrete block" ship, the thrusters are useless, because they have realistic physics, which means if the thrust and mass proportions are not balanced, you are going to just spin. Also - bugs, many weird bugs, unexplainable crashes, and weird little things, like quests being really not proportionate to just mining and selling stuff, and orthographic errors (favorite one is sheild). I know it's early access but come on, you can't expect me to remember to launch the 1.0 after several years of development!

I am in love with this game but i have been running into a bug with the physics engine where my ship will start tweaking tf out and the modules will detach themselves from the ship and and get sent off into the dark expanse of space. id love to dump countless hours in this game but its hard when my ship just randomly decides to self destruct

Hello, I started playing yesterday and continued today. Just completed the tutorials and i love it so far. The best part for me is the freedom of not jut building a station that keeps expanding but the fact that you can build multiple objects which can be used as stations, ships or modules. I am about to start the campaign and will update the review after a couple more hours. Update: I made it into the Panonia transporter and on my way to Europa. I managed to squish a personal creation of sorts as a ship that can fight, mine, refine into the hangar. Ready to make the jump. I would recommend this game to anyone who wants to build space stations from scratch and ships in any way they want to.
