👍 Highly Recommended 👍 Subnautica 2 immediately pulled me in. The story is interesting, although I do wish it was a little easier to follow at times. There's a lot going on, and sometimes it's difficult to keep track of everything. Compared to the original Subnautica and Below Zero, this game feels much bigger. There seems to be a lot more to discover, and the underwater world is full of interesting locations to explore. I think they did a great job with the different biomes. They're different enough to make each area feel unique and worth exploring, but not so different that it feels like you're suddenly playing another game. Everything still feels like it belongs in the same world. The atmosphere is also great. Exploration can be genuinely terrifying, especially when you're somewhere unfamiliar and don't know what's swimming around you. One thing I would really like to see is larger creatures having more ways to interact with your vehicles. For example, imagine something grabbing your Tadpole and dragging it around, or a creature creating currents that slow you down while you're trying to escape. I feel like that would make encounters with larger predators a lot more interesting than just trying to outrun them. I also like how the wildlife affects exploration. Certain creatures make you actually think about which routes you're going to take to reach different locations. Sometimes taking the longer route feels like the better option, and I enjoy having to make those decisions. I do wish there was some way to kill dangerous creatures, though. Even if it was difficult or required a lot of resources, having that option would be nice. Building is pretty good overall, but some parts of it can be tedious. My biggest complaint is probably resource availability before you get the tadpole. I wish the minerals regrew or something. I don't mind having to gather resources, but having to constantly search for something as basic as titanium just to keep building gets old. As far as graphics and performance go, I really don't have any complaints. The game looks amazing, and I haven't experienced any noticeable FPS drops. Multiplayer has been one of my favorite additions. I've been playing with two buddies, and being able to explore and build together has been a lot of fun. I really like the shared resource system for bases, too. It's convenient being able to build together and share resources without constantly moving things around. My only issue is that if two buildings are too close together, they can end up sharing resources even if you don't want them to. I wish there was an option to turn that off for individual buildings. Right now, my friends and I are actually waiting for the next big update before continuing our save. We're all really excited to see what gets added. We've also been using SaveSync to share our save between us, which has worked great. It basically lets us treat our world like a server since it automatically passes the save around instead of having to rely on the same person hosting every time. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Subnautica 2. The world is great, the exploration is fun, and multiplayer adds a lot to the experience. There are definitely things I'd like to see improved, especially with building, creature behavior, and some multiplayer features, but I've really enjoyed my time with it so far. I'm looking forward to seeing what they add in future updates. I think there's a lot of potential here, and I'm excited to see how the game develops.
