Good game good addon and storyline connection to the first subnautica cool new addons. Will say not as good as the first but its nice to play the same game and still switch is up.
Uhhh do I recommend this game? I mean, I think the developers are absolute legends for making Subnautica, and I want to support them, but this game has too many annoying elements that I don't want to finish it. It's really frustrating and strange to feel like this because Subnautica was such an elite game. Imo this is not bad simply because it can't live up to how good Subnautica was, it's bad for several definable reasons: The beginning of the game where you're swimming around exploring, managing oxygen and inventory space has been compressed, and that's the most joyful part of the game. The sub sucks. Leviathans have a huge detection radius. They will just find and kill you. How boring. You have to do a lot on land. In the frigid wastes of the arctic. Managing cold. That's not fun or interesting. The story is incredibly linear, without any mystery or choice. It turns out that in the process of making a smaller, simpler, quicker version of Subnautica, what made the game truly great has been lost.
Good Game
fun
Below Zero has a pretty nice story, and the story of the advanced alien race is expanded in this game which is neat, and hell, you actually get to
interact and see a real human being
in the story. But I gotta say, while it offers a cool additional story and a personal story for the protagonist Robin, it has its fair share of downsides compared to Subnautica 1. Some upsides include the additional story, lore, voice acting, survival loop, gameplay, and surprisingly....did not run into a single bug in my 43 hours of my 1st playthrough, this is a miracle, coming from the first Subnautica game. The downsides however compared to the 1st game? Smaller map, Removed Seamoth and replaced with Seatruck, less Leviathans, still has no easy "pull from an area" resource system to fabricate things, you have to have everything in your pocket still. While some might like that the game is much more story driven and tighter than Subnautica 1, some of these elements from the first game are missed, or difficult to get used to in Below Zero in my opinion. All in all though, a good experience, even with some nuances here and there.
