Lot of hate for Hunter, but I think she is pretty solid. She gets an attack speed stim like ranger, and super high critical damage. I have her at level 80 and she is already doing damage comparable to my level 90 ranger. If you want to buy a new class, buy this one, not Slayer. Its also nice having 3 ranged for Torment difficulty as even with decent level 80 armor things can kill you in 2 hits.

This particular class helped me when fighting hard boss above my party current level because she can stun enemies with her skill. Good stuff for me indeed.

The Hunter DLC currently struggles to find a distinct identity. While the class attempts to offer a highly versatile, multi-elemental playstyle, it is heavily held back by split scaling, restrictive skill tree mechanics, and a high gear requirement. Compared to the base Ranger class—which achieves superior results with minimal investment—the Hunter requires excessive effort for a suboptimal return, making the DLC difficult to recommend in its current state. The skill tree feels unfocused due to heavy division across four distinct paths: Ice, Fire, Lightning, and Physical. Trying to support three magical elements alongside physical damage forces the player's focus to be too fragmnted. It is incredibly difficult to create a cohesive, synergistic build because the nodes actively pull the player in completely different directions. While the tree features numerous Crit-related nodes, they are insufficient on their own. Achieving a viable or 100% Critical Hit rate early-to-mid game is practically impossible. Reaching a functional crit ceiling requires absolute "endgame/beyond" items paired with perfect stat rolls. The barrier to entry for a functioning crit build is simply too high for the average progression experience. The ultimate issue with the Hunter is the performance disparity when compared to the baseline Ranger. Ranger: Requires minimal investment, features straightforward scaling, and can easily clear stages solo. Hunter: Demands high-intensity theorycrafting, perfect gear, and strict stat-optimization just to perform adequately. Ultimately, the Hunter class tries to do too many things at once, making it incredibly difficult to focus on a single, functional build.
