They removed the thing I loved the most about the first game. Which was customizing and building your own tech priest. That was the one thing I was looking forward to the most, and they replaced it with predetermined characters. I dont know why they decided to do that , but it was a lame decision.

this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game is littered with bugs, my 5070ti laptop slows down every 5 missions or so and i have to restart the whole damn thing. this is not acceptable in 2026 emperor damn it! and even worse that i payed the full price for a unity engine made game. throughout my gaming hours, i got multiple accounts where a unit is stuck and i had to restart the whole skirmish. whomever is responsible for this warhammer atrocity should be reincarnated to the 40k universe and be turned into servitors or cherubs to pay your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ debts to the Adeptus Mechanicus

is this a good game, yes. is this the game the fanbase of the original wanted, no. i really have no clue why devs do this you have a formula that not only works but is loved and you throw it out and keep nothing but the name this is very much like down of war 1 to 2, as in its fine but almost nothing like the original. that being said if you havent played the first game this one is great. if your looking for some thing even close to the first game its not going to be your cup of tea.
